HUC’s Housing Team Away Day - July 16, 2012

On Thursday 28th June the Housing Team took time out to take stock, review and look forward.

The sun was shining, the venue, ‘Chiswick Pier Trust’, by the Thames was conducive to what we were trying to achieve, and the lunch from Marks and Spencer scrumptiuos.

Out of a score of 10 for ‘job satisifaction’ the average was 9.3 and for ‘work life balance’ the score was 9.2

The following were identified when describing HUC:

Personal touch
HUC Unique – different to other housing schemes
Community spirt
“Family” feeling
Services and support of high standard
Individual schemes retain individual character
High Quality buildings
Personal service
Community gardens
Financial sustainability
Maintaining service excellence

The ‘Final Thoughts’ from the day were:

‘We have gained a better understanding of each other’
‘We need to act on the points agreed’
‘Have appreciated listening to people’s passion and commitment, knowing how people feel’
‘We’ve had a chance to air our views. We need to think about our own blind spots’
‘Being an almshouse gives us the freedom to retain our ethos’
‘Pleased to hear the positive comments’

It was a positive day and thoroughly enjoyed by all.
