Sycamore House
Sycamore House is a haven of tranquillity in busy west London. The residents extend a warm welcome to new arrivals.
Rita — Sycamore House resident
Sycamore House, in Sycamore Gardens, was built in the 1950's to provide 40 flats on land bought on favourable terms from Hammersmith Borough Council. Sycamore House was officially opened on 9th June, 1955 by H.R.H. The Duchess of Gloucester. Later, in the mid 1980's, the 24 bed-sitting room flats (bed-sits) were converted to provide one bedroom units with a separate sitting room, to match the other 16 original flats.
Currently, Sycamore House has 28 individual flats, a smaller Guest flat, a large Residents' Hall and laundry facilities. There are offices within the site from which the Charity is administered.
