Sycamore House – Accommodation
Sycamore House today provides 28 comfortable flats for men and women, 8 of which are suitable for married couples. The flats are centrally heated and have been refurbished. They have all been sympathetically designed to provide maximum comfort. The flats have a beautiful garden and there is a large Residents' Hall for activities and social events.
All the flats are carpeted throughout, are well decorated and centrally heated. The sitting rooms are spacious and light and the bedrooms have fitted wardrobes. The kitchens have built-in units including an oven and separate hob with extractor fan. There is also a space for a fridge-freezer. The bathroom has either a bath or shower. All the rooms have a generous supply of power points and a television aerial socket. Residents provide their own furniture and the Scheme Manager can advise on suitability if necessary.
The majority of ground floor flats are now equipped with wet rooms to permit maximum accessibility for those of limited mobility who may find getting into and out of a bath difficult.
First floor flats are not served by lifts so residents must be sufficiently mobile to cope with a limited number of stairs.
It is hoped that in the near future construction of a further 22 high specification flats on the same site will commence.
I think I’m very lucky to be living here. I love my new flat, I feel safe and secure and the garden is such a pleasure.
